We feel that everyone deserves a brighter smile. That’s
why our practice offers whitening methods that are safe, effective, and convenient for an affordable price.
Teeth whitening may be achieved by either the in-office one visit technique
or the take-home self kit. Each system is monitored closely by one of our very skilled assistants. The in-office
whitening treatment is one-time procedure that can
whiten your teeth up to 10 shades! Although the actual whitening procedure only takes approximately one hour, the actual
chair time is about two hours total. During this time, the assistant prepares you for your custom whitening visit. This
method is safe and formulated to prevent sensitivity. The take-home kit involves an initial visit that takes about a
half hour to take the necessary molds for your custom fit trays. You will then return to our office the following week
for another half hour visit to fit the trays and go over the proper instructions. This is followed up with a one to two week
check up visit.
Q: What causes tooth
discoloration?
A: Discoloration may be the result of genetics, medication, poor oral hygiene, aging, smoking, certain
foods and beverages or a combination of these factors.
Q:
Am I a good candidate for tooth whitening?
A: People with most types of discoloration can achieve lighter teeth through
our whitening programs. The type of stain you have will affect how much whitening you will experience. Ask us how
much whiter your teeth can be!
Q: Is
this whitening procedure safe?
A: Absolutely! When used under the supervision of your dental professional, the procedure
is safe and will not harm teeth or gums. The safety of the programs is supported in more than 20 research studies at
leading dental universities.
Q: How
long does the take-home system take before I can expect results?
A: Results are often seen after one application. Optimum
natural whiteness usually occurs when the process is continued for a week to 10 days. We will go over what you can expect
for your individual situation.
Q: How
long will it last?
A: The duration of your results will depend largely upon you. The results may be permanent.
Practice good oral hygiene and brush normally, especially after consuming staining foods or beverages, and your results could
last for years. If you use staining substances like coffee, tobacco and red wine, you may want periodic touch-ups for
one or two days as you feel necessary (usually every six months to a year).
