Our dental hygienists are highly trained and licensed professionals
who provide you with education, clinical and therapeutical services to enhance your overall oral health. Hygienists
have several functions in a dental practice, such as checking for dental conditions, cleaning teeth using special tools and
techniques, and educating patients. They will check your teeth, mouth and gums and prescreen for any kinds of periodontal
disease, decay or other kinds of problems. Our hygienists regularly do a full head and neck oral cancer screening examination
to detect any sort of abnormalities. Your hygienist will also carefully teach you to effectively take care of your teeth
at home to help you prevent decay and periodontal disease, select the proper tooth brush and dental floss, and demonstrate
the proper techniques for brushing and flossing. Our office performs non-surgical periodontal care and works in conjunction
with a local periodontal specialist for those patients who need additional care and treatment. We usually recommend
children start their dental experience at 3 years old, and we keep up your regular dental check-ups every six months, unless
specified by your dental hygientist to come more frequently, to maintain your periodontal health.
Things that can be a factor in your dental health are:
- Diet
- Home care
- Tobacco use
- Health conditions
- Irregular dental check-ups
- Genetics
At our office, we strive to give the most complete dental care possible to all of our patients. At your first visit, we
will do a thorough examination that usually includes a full set of dental x-rays, full head and next oral cancer screening,
periodontal screening, and examination by Dr. Ladowski or Dr. Pitzen to detect any dental caries or other pathologies.
Please call our office today to set up an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you!
